Full size platform bed with headboard offer a modern, simple look for your bedroom, as well as solid back. Building your own is also an economical do it yourself project. The base is inserted six inches on each side. The 1-by-4 trim creates a lip to keep your mattress from sliding and an extra 1/2 inch on each side to allow for tucking in sheets and other bedding in the full size platform bed with headboard.

A half will form the top of the platform and a half bottom portion. Sand any rough edges on your timber before building the base.

Fasten the base to the platform using metal L-brackets, two on each side.
Turn on the bed over and attached one-by-4s around the edge of the chipboard platform with wood screws, leaving a one-inch lip above the chipboard. You may want to use a tape measure to mark the cards on the one inch mark. Stain or paint your full size platform bed with headboard as desired. If a natural wood finish is desired, simply by placing a layer of polyurethane over the entire structure.
